Since our founding in 2003, StoryCorps’ mission has been to help people feel more connected and less alone. In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, people across the country are physically isolated and unable to experience meaningful connections with others.
Today, we’re excited to launch StoryCorps Connect, a new, free platform that enables individuals to take part in a StoryCorps interview with a loved one, remotely.

This platform is in public beta; we built and launched it in time for families who observe traditions during Passover, Easter, and Ramadan to use. It’s also for anyone to honor the start of spring with the people you’re missing through a classic — and safe — StoryCorps conversation.
As with other StoryCorps interviews recorded in our StoryBooths or on the StoryCorps App, interviews recorded on StoryCorps Connect become accessible and shareable through the StoryCorps Archive and are preserved for future generations at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress.
We are working closely with public media organizations, libraries, school districts, teachers, and others across the country to bring StoryCorps Connect to the American people, and to call on the country to honor the stories of our elders at this momentous point in our history. StoryCorps Connect interviews can be conducted by anyone, anywhere in the world.
We encourage you to try StoryCorps Connect, and have the conversation of a lifetime today — all from your computer! We’ll be here to remind you during these difficult times that we’re all in this together.
